Please read the following information regarding the academy.
Everyone who applies for the Organ Academy will be accepted. Please note that the number of active masterclass participants is limited. Active participants must fill in a curriculum vitae-form when registering. The selection will be made by the masterclass leader and participants will be notified at the beginning of September. If necessary, auditions will take place or tape recordings will be requested in order to select the active participants. Those who are not accepted as active participants, will automatically be accepted as observers.
When participating only on Saturday, September 17, it is possible to be an active participant in Stephen Cleobury's master class. Please note that the final selection of active participants will be made by the master class leader.
Masterclass Gordon Stewart (Thursday, Friday, Sunday)
Free choice amongst organ compositions from British composers from the 19th and early 20th centuries (for example John Stainer, Charles V. Stanford, Hubert Parry, Henry Smart, Edward Elgar, Herbert Howells, Ralph Vaughan Williams).
The fee for the entire Academy is SEK 2,000; students and pensioners SEK 1,000. The same price for both active participants and observers. This includes all events during the Academy, lunches, refreshments and the concluding buffet on Sunday evening. Accommodation costs are not included.
A day pass gives you access to all the events during one day, including the masterclass (where you may participate as an observer) as well as lunch and refreshments (or on Sunday the evening buffet).
Participants canceling prior to August 31 will get a full refund. After August 31 participants will get a full refund minus SEK 500.
Please check the Swedish regulations concerning your country with regard to visa rules, when making your travel arrangements. Information can be obtained from your nearest Swedish Embassy or Consulate or from your travel agency.
Concert tickets can be purchased via this website in advance. For the concerts there will always be tickets available at the venue from one hour before each concert. Normal concert price SEK 120, students/pensioners SEK 80.
For participants of the Organ Academy, the tickets for the concerts are included in the course fee. No reservation is necessary for the participants of the Academy.

In the following two hotels, we have reserved a limited number of rooms with a discount price (first come, first served); these will be available through July 31. Please state booking code when booking.
The Organ Academy Information Office is open during the Academy and is situated in the Academy of Music and Drama/Artisten. Artisten (address: Fågelsången 1), is situated in the middle of the city, near Götaplatsen where the Concert Hall, the Art Museum and the City Theater are located.

Please register at the Information Office directly upon your arrival in order to get your program and participant's card, which admits you to all the Organ Academy events. Opening hours: see programme.
The official language of the Academy is English.
Private tape and video recordings of recitals in the Organ Academy are not allowed. (Recordings might however be made by the Organ Academy staff and by the Swedish Radio and TV.)
The Academy of Music and Drama / Göteborg International Organ Academy is not responsible for financial consequences of loss, theft, illness, accident, etc. We advise participants to make appropriate insurance arrangements.
On request each participant will receive a certificate of participation.

The Göteborg International Organ Academy is a festival, organized by the Göteborg International Organ Academy Association in cooperation with the City of Göteborg and GOArt and the Academy of Music and Drama at the University of Gothenburg.
